Nepalese Association of Victoria Stands in Solidarity with Flood-Affected Communities in Nepal

The Nepalese Association of Victoria (NAV) expresses its deepest sorrow and concern following the devastating floods and severe weather events affecting communities across Nepal.

Our hearts are with those who have lost loved ones, those who remain missing or injured, families who have been displaced, and communities facing enormous loss, uncertainty and hardship. On behalf of the Nepalese community in Victoria, NAV extends its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and our deepest solidarity with everyone affected by this tragedy.

We acknowledge and sincerely appreciate the extraordinary efforts of emergency and rescue teams, security personnel, health workers, local authorities, volunteers, community organisations and individuals who are working tirelessly under extremely difficult circumstances to save lives and provide assistance.

At this challenging time, NAV is working collaboratively with fellow Nepalese community organisations, including ANMC, NRNA and other community organisations and leaders, to identify the most appropriate, coordinated and effective ways in which our community in Victoria can support Nepal and the communities affected by this disaster.

An Important Message Regarding Donations

NAV strongly encourages everyone wishing to donate to use only official, verified and trustworthy fundraising channels. Where possible, our preferred option is to contribute directly through the official Government of Nepal disaster relief funds administered through the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (PMO). Community members may also consider fundraising initiatives officially announced or endorsed by NRNA, including any verified NRNA fundraising/GoFundMe campaign.

Our community has always stood with Nepal during difficult times, and once again, NAV stands ready to do everything within our capacity to support our motherland and its people. We encourage the Nepalese community in Victoria, the wider Australian community and friends of Nepal to keep the affected families in their thoughts and prayers and to stand together with compassion, humanity and solidarity.

Our thoughts are with Nepal. Our prayers are with every affected family. Our community stands together, ready to help. May those who have lost their lives rest in peace. May those who remain missing be found safely. May the injured recover soon.

And may strength, courage and hope be with every family and community affected by this tragedy.
